| Zoran Rumboldt, M.D., is Associate Professor of Radiology and serves as the section head at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Rumboldt received his M.D. from University of Zagreb School of Medicine in Zagreb, Croatia. Upon graduation, he served as a field doctor during the war in Croatia. Following internship, he was a post-doc in molecular biology at University of Connecticut in Farmington, Connecticut. He then completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at University of Zagreb Sisters of Mercy Hospital, and fellowship in Neuroradiology at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He came to the Medical University of South Carolina as Visiting Associate Professor of Radiology in 2003. He was promoted to his current rank in 2005. He was awarded the department Golden Apple Award for teaching in 2004-05.
Dr. Rumboldt has published over 50 articles and abstracts in many journals, including Lancet, Radiology, American Journal of Neuroradiology, American Journal of Roentgenology, Journal of Neurosurgery and Neuroradiology. He has been an invited speaker at major national radiological meetings and has written multiple review articles and book chapters. His primary research interests are in imaging of head and neck cancer, brain tumors, stroke and spinal disorders.
