After moving to Mt. Pleasant in July 1992, Dr. Hoy quickly established one of the premiere private practices in the area. His success caught the attention of Dr. Paul Lambert, chairman of the Otolaryngology Department at MUSC. Together, they forged a relationship that eventually brought Dr. Hoy onto the full-time staff at MUSC beginning in 2001. He now serves as assistant professor and medical director of the Allergy Division at East Cooper. He divides his time between seeing patients at MUSC's East Cooper - Mt. Pleasant and Rutledge Tower - downtown facilities. He performs surgery at MUSC, Rutledge Tower Ambulatory Surgery Center and East Cooper Hospital.
Dr. Hoy has been board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology since 1992. His career interests include: sinus disease, sinus surgery (including image-guided surgery), the diagnosis and treatment of allergy, and general pediatric otolaryngology. He is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
A resident of the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant, Dr. and his wife, Nancy Whitlow Hoy, have been married 15 years. They have two sons, Payne, 11, and Connor, 14. Nancy recently began a second career in real estate. Both boys attend Charleston Day School and are state- and regionally-ranked tennis players. Dr. Hoy is an avid saltwater fly fisherman and wine connoisseur and enjoys traveling with his family. |
