| Dr. Pierre Giglio's current primary interests are in the development and implementation of clinical trials for patients with malignant primary brain tumors. These include trials with innovative designs, such as factorial designs and protocols testing molecular therapies in malignant gliomas.
Dr. Giglio also has an interest in quality of life research in patient treated for primary brain tumors or other cancers involving the central nervous system. The direct consequences of nervous system involvement by cancer or its treatment results in cognitive problems, sleep disturbances, pain and affective problems. He has expertise in the diagnosis and management of sleep disturbances in cancer patients and is currently co-investigator in a clinical trial investigating therapeutic intervention for cognitive problems in patients receiving whole brain radiation for brain metastases. Dr. Giglio is currently engaged in inpatient, outpatient and emergency care of patients that have nervous system involvement by cancer. This includes patients with primary and metastatic brain tumors. Additionally, he provides care for patients with neurologic complications of cancer such as encephalopathies, peripheral neuropathies, pain, and paraneoplastic neurologic disorders.
