Dr. Sahn is a Professor of Medicine as well as the Director of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Sleep Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and his fellowship in pulmonary disease at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Sahn is a leader in the study of the pathogenesis of pleural disease and interstitial lung disease and has been the lead investigator in multiple major clinical trials in lung disease including multiple studies involving IPF. He serves on the Editorial board for Chest, the publication of the American College of Chest Physicians, as well as Up-to-Date in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, a publication of the American Thoracic Society. Dr. Sahn is a well-published author with hundreds of combined books, manuscripts, and monographs to his credit.
