Fight For S.I.G.H.T. is a community service initiative of Storm
Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina aimed
at providing free eye care services to the less served of Charleston County. Fight For S.I.G.H.T. was created by a group of residents and medical students in the Fall of 2004. This award-winning program has made great strides in improving the accessibility of eye care to the underserved populations of the Lowcountry.

Fight For S.I.G.H.T. is pleased to announce that more than 500 patients have been provided a complete and comprehensive dilated eye exam free of charge during its first three years of operation. Volunteers generously support our cause, donating nearly 4,000 hours of community service. We would like to express our gratitude to the patients, volunteers and contributors for their tremendous support.

We are in the midst of a great growth phase that includes seeing an ever growing number of patients, expanding to new locations and providing more complex treatments. Fight For S.I.G.H.T. has been instrumental in the education of residents and medical students so that at the completion of their training they will become leaders in medicine and in their communities.
