Dr. Crouch is conducting studies on enzymes responsible for vitamin A metabolism in the retina to understand the biochemical mechanisms that underlie photoreceptor function.

Dr. Alsarraf is investigating how changes in gene expression can protect the retina from injury in glaucoma.

Dr. Koutalos is investigating how metabolic changes in the retina contribute to the development of age-related macular degeneration.

Dr. Kono is investigating how mutations in photoreceptor opsin influence rod and cone function and viability.

Dr. Rohrer is studying how genetic mutations contribute/influence photoreceptor survival and the development of age-related macular degeneration.Dr. Husain is investigating the cellular factors that contribute to retinal degeneration in glaucoma.
