Neuro-Ophthalmology

Visual blackouts are alarming to patients and alert the doctor to search for underlying medical conditions. Even though the loss of vision may be brief and then improved, it may return and be persistent.

Neuro-ophthalmologists are eye physicians specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of neurologically related eye conditions. They evaluate for risk factors such as stroke or heart problems in the elderly or inflammation in younger patients. For more information, contact your eye care provider or call Storm Eye Institute at 843-792-8100.
