Kenneth A. Sharpe, MD is a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Albert Florens Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Sharpe’s major teaching responsibilities include Undergraduate Medical Education, Graduate Medical Education, Lecture series on diseases of retina-vitreous to residents, Graduate Studies Education and Continuing Medical Education. Dr. Sharpe received his undergraduate degree and medical doctorate (MD) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He completed his internship at the Alton Ocshner Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Sharpe completed his residency in ophthalmology at MUSC, followed by his fellowship in retino-vitreal surgery and medical retina at Retina Associates, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Sharpe is a dedicated member of professional and scientific societies including American Medical Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Charles Schepens Alumni Society, Charleston Ophthalmological Society and the South Carolina Medical Society. His awards and honors include Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, Phi Eta Honor Society, and Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society.
