Our Medical Team


Angela Choi, M.D.

Dr. Angela Choi joined MUSC Women's Care in 2013 as an Obstetrician Gynecologist.  Her undergraduate studies were at Wake Forest University and she completed medical school and residency at MUSC.  Dr. Choi provides comprehensive obstetrics and gynecological services, and her special interests include contraception and family planning, preconception counseling, adolescent gynecology and obstetrics.

Jessica Day, MSN, CNM

Jessica Day joined MUSC Women's Care in 2013 as a Nurse Midwife. Her undergraduate studies were at University of Illinois at Chicago and she completed the Master of Science in Nursing and Nurse Midwifery program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Jessica provides OB/GYN care for women of all ages with special emphasis in obstetrics, general gynecological wellness, family planning and contraception.

Ashlyn Savage, M.D.

Dr. Ashlyn Savage joined MUSC Women's Care in 2006 as an Obstetrician Gynecologist.  Her undergraduate studies were at Tulane University and she completed medical school at MUSC.  After medical school, Dr. Savage completed her residency at Magee-Women's Hospital at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.  Her special interests include minimally invasive surgery, cervical dysplasia, and family planning.
Angela Savatiel, M.D.

Dr. Angela Savatiel joined MUSC Women's Care in 2009 as an Obstetrician Gynecologist.  Her undergraduate studies were at University of Louisville and she completed medical school and residency at University of Louisville.  Her special interests include preconception counseling, menopausal wellness and integrative medicine.
Steven Swift, M.D.

Dr. Steven Swift joined MUSC Women's Care in 1993 as an Urogynecologist.  His undergraduate studies were at Ohio State University and he completed medical school at MUSC. After medical school, Dr. Swift completed a fellowship in urogynecology at University of California, Irvine. His interests include evaluation and management of incontinence as well as the epidemiology of pelvic organ prolapse.
Paul Underwood, M.D.

Dr. Paul Underwood joined MUSC Women's Care in 2001 as a Gynecologist.  His undergraduate studies were at Furman University and completed medical school at MUSC.  After medical school, Dr. Underwood completed his residency at MUSC and a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute in Houston, Texas.  He was the first oncologist in South Carolina.  He cares for women in all stages of life and is able to manage the most complex of problems.

Jennifer Young Pierce, M.D.

Dr. Jennifer Young Pierce joined MUSC Women's Care in 2009 as a Gynecologist Oncologist.  Her undergraduate studies were at University of Virginia and completed medical school at MUSC.  After medical school, Dr. Pierce completed her residency at Brigham & Women's Hospital and a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at University of Virginia. Dr. Pierce is deeply committed to the care of women with gynecologic cancers and spends the majority of her time seeing patients and performing radical surgeries for cancer treatment.
