Dietitian Q/A
Because of the contents of some questions and the large number we receive, the MUSC Dietitians only answer selected questions. Although we discourage questions regarding personal health problems, scheduling an appointment with the outpatient dietitian to address these concerns is encouraged. Appointments can be made after a physician referral is received.

My question is - Is a patient who has been placed on a mchanical soft diet in a nursing home who is to be supervised when eating allowed to have a sliced pork sandwich and must someone be with her when she is eating in her room and not in a dining areaThan ks so much Pat

Thank you for your inquiry. I think the best person to answer this question is the Speech Therapist or Administrator at the nursing home.
