CLINICAL INTERESTS

  •  Clinical Research Interest: Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for pediatric disorders
  •  Clinical Research Interest: Umbilical cord blood transplantation for malignant and non-malignant pediatric disorders
  •  Clinical Research Interest: Reduced intensity conditioning regimens for patients with sickle cell disease
  •  Clinical Research Interest: Improving outcomes for hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients
  •  My clinical interest is in reduced intensity conditioning regimens for patients with hemoglobinopathies. We participate in a multi-institutional clinical trial for patients with hematologic disorders, and will be participating in the national clinical trial for sickle cell disease.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

  • My research interest is directed towards improving outcomes for pediatric stem cell transplant recipients. My particular focus has been on the infusion of multiple umbilical cord blood (UCB) units to overcome the limited cell dose available for recipients. This translational work has included both patient data as well as murine and in-vitro models of the donor competition that occurs both between the umbilical cord blood units, and the UCB units and the recipients.
