They provide information services used by patients, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies, CROs and research centers involved in clinical research around the world. Thomson CenterWatch provides a wealth of information about clinical research, including listings of more than 41,000 active industry and government-sponsored clinical trials, as well as new drug therapies in research and those recently approved by the FDA. Cancer.gov Cancer.gov provides and excellent resource for information related to clinical trials related to cancer treatment. The site is maintained by the National Cancer Institute and is updated on a routine basis. Clinical Trial search results come from PDQ®, NCI's Physician Data Query database. It is a comprehensive source of up-to-date cancer information for patients and their families, health professionals, and others interested in learning more about cancer. PDQ information is available on the Internet through Cancer.gov, NCI's Web site, which features interactive search tools. The PDQ database includes approximately 1,800 active clinical trials that are open to participants worldwide and more than 12,000 closed trials. Through the "Cancer Information" tab on Cancer.gov, you can also access cancer information summaries that describe the latest advances in screening, prevention, supportive care, genetics, treatment, and complementary and alternative medicine, in both technical and non-technical versions. Editorial boards of cancer experts review the current medical literature to update the PDQ cancer information summaries.
