Hearing Loss

Child cupping his ear

For children with hearing loss, MUSC offers the most complete management available in the state. Treatment covers the spectrum from management of mild hearing loss caused by chronic ear infections to children who have profound hearing loss and would be candidates for cochlear implants.

“For management of congenital malformation of the ear, nose and throat, we actively participate in the craniofacial team,” says David R. White, M.D., one of MUSC’s three pediatric otolaryngologists. “We also can treat speech disorders related to craniofacial abnormalities.”
