Day of Discovery
The Day of Discovery program, hosted by the MUSC Institute of Psychiatry, is a one-day conference held to inform those in the medical and mental health professions about new advances in the field of psychiatry. This year's Fall Day of Discovery, held on September 18, 2008, will showcase experts in the field of addiction from the Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs and the Charleston Alcohol Research Center. The presenters will focus on a wide range of drug and alcohol related topics including the neurobiology of addiction, alcohol monitoring, addiction treatments, the role of medications and genetics in treating alcoholism, and adolescent substance abuse.
