Our Services

  • At Hollings Cancer Center, our Gynecologic Cancer Program encompasses all aspects of diagnosis, surgery, treatment and management of cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer and vulvar cancer.

    Two specialty coordinators who offer compassionate nursing navigation throughout the intake patient care process and surgical planning:
    • Sandra Anderson, RN, MSN
    • Angela Raney, RN, MSN
  • Weekly gynecologic tumor conference provides multidisciplinary approach to each patient's care
  • Outpatient infusion center across the hall from our clinic as well as partnerships with medical oncology and radiation oncology across the state to make sure services are convenient for the patient
  • Nationally renowned radiation oncologists and gynecologic pathologists who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancers

Latest Technologies

  • Most advanced strategies for early diagnosis and staging of all types of gynecologic cancers including:
    • Human papillomavirus testing in addition to Pap smear
    • Colposcopic assessment for cervical pre-invasive and invasive disease
    • Same-day in-clinic fine needle aspiration as indicated
    • Positron Emission Tomography (PET/CT Scan) as indicated
    • Interventional Radiology for image-guided biopsy
    • Robotic surgery (see below)
  • Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) clinical trials participant:
    • Offers opportunities to participate in national Phase III clinical trials specific to gynecologic cancers
    • Access to cancer-fighting agents not yet available in regular practice
  • Laparoscopy and da Vinci Surgical System
    • Minimally invasive surgery for early pelvic mass evaluations as well as staging and treatment for early endometrial, ovarian and cervical cancer
    • Robotic-assisted laparoscopic lymph node assessment
  • Specialized radiation oncology services to target therapy and decrease side effects
    • Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) in addition to traditional external beam radiation
    • Vaginal brachytherapy for treatment of endometrial cancers
