Hollings Cancer Center : about_hollings_cancer : Brain & Spine Tumor Program

Brain TumorNearly 250 patients will come to MUSC Hollings Cancer Center this year with tumors of the brain, spine and nervous system.  The MUSC Brain & Spine Tumor Program is committed to state-of-the-art care for patients.  The highly dedicated, professional team focuses on providing the most effective therapies available while also striving to develop new therapies within a highly active basic and clinical research program.  These efforts are backed by facilities with the latest technology in neurosurgery, neuropathology, neuroimaging, radiation oncology, neurorehabilitation and laboratory research.

The program brings the latest in neuro-oncology care to the brain tumor population in South Carolina and neighboring states with participation in neuro-oncology, multi-center, and group trials.

Brain & spine tumor patients have access to clinical trials of promising new therapies.  Several of these are multi-institutional, collaborative trials involving brain and spinal tumors.  The goal of these research efforts is to bring effective new treatments to patients as quickly as possible.
