In South Carolina, colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths. That means people in our state die from colon cancer at a higher rate than in the nation as a whole. South Carolina also has one of the highest pancreatic cancer rates in the nation. Fortunately, recent advances in screening, diagnostics and treatment at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center are helping to reverse these trends and replace them with hope for the future.
