Dedicated to providing patients with access to an extraordinary level of care, MUSC’s cardiovascular team offers expertise in every cardiology and cardiovascular surgery subspecialty and utilizes cutting edge diagnostic and therapeutic technology.

MUSC continues to bring innovative therapies to the bedside through an extensive basic and clinical research program. The Gazes Cardiac Research Institute is one of the nation’s leading centers for heart failure research. The basic research program focuses on growth regulation in the adult heart, with a specific focus on the maladaptive growth that causes heart failure, and is complemented with a successful clinical research effort with ongoing trials in the areas of cardiac arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, coronary intervention and cardiac transplantation.

A State-of-the-Art New Home
Within the Ashley River Tower, MUSC will bring the full range of cardiovascular disease management services to one convenient location. The center will feature the most advanced imaging and interventional radiology capabilities in the region, as well as an accredited round-the-clock Chest Pain Center to deliver quick and accurate assessments of heart problems in the earliest critical stages.

With four exam rooms, five observation suites, two Spec CT’s, and echocardiogram stations, the Chest Pain Center is designed for immediate access no matter what the patient needs might be. By grouping everything together in our Chest Pain Center, we can serve our patients quickly and efficiently.
