Donald R. Johnson II, M.D.
Elected to the MUSC Board of Trustees in 1994, Dr. Johnson currently serves as Chairman of the Board. He is the medical professions representative from Congressional District 1. He is former Medical Director of the Department of Rehabilitative Services, Bon Secours-St. Francis Xavier Hospital. This native of Charleston received his BS from the College of Charleston before going on to medical school at MUSC. Dr. Johnson served as the Chief Orthopedic Surgery Resident at MUSC from 1988 to 1989, and is on the clinical faculty at MUSC in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Johnson is President-Elect of the South Carolina Orthopedic Association (2002-2003). He has also held academic appointments and visiting professorships in Hong Kong, Madrid, Paris and London. Dr. Johnson is the Medical Director of the Southeastern Spine Institute, P.C. Dr. Johnson and his wife, Kim, have two children.
