The Sixth Annual Greystone.Net Best In Class Award Winners were announced at the Greystone.Net Client Conference Luncheon on November 10, 2008 at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate in Orlando, FL.  Awards were presented in eight categories, showcasing the finest in hospital and healthcare system Web site content and functionality.

Greystone also selected a Gold, Silver and Bronze Best Overall Web site based on all entries. This award recognizes the Greystone or Staywell Custom Communication Client Web site that embodies the strategic vision of the organization, exceeds the expectations of visitors to the Web site, and is among the hospital and healthcare system leaders in terms of innovation, design, content and functionality.

MUSC was recognized by Greystone.net for its web site www.MUSChealth.com, winning a gold award in one of the nine categories and bronze awards in two categories.

In this year’s competition, Greystone and Staywell provided their clients with an opportunity to submit entries in nine categories: Innovator's Award; Best Redesigned Web Site; Best Use of Web Analytics; Most Efficient Use of Limited Web Resources; Best Use of Social Media; Best Method of Driving Traffic to Web Site; Best Us of Cross-media Approaches; Best Promotion of Online Health Content; and Best Overall Site. 

Each entrant was asked to provide examples and written descriptions of why their organizations should be considered for the award. Entries were reviewed by a panel, were narrowed to a list of finalists, and an online ballot was created.  As in previous competitions, clients were asked to vote for the sites they thought were Best In Class. Voting was held online and the results of the voting weighed heavily in the selection of the final winners.

This is the third year in a row that MUSC has won a Best in Class award.
