Charles L. Appleby, Jr.
A lay representative from Congressional District 6, Mr. Appleby began his term in 2002. Mr. Appleby attended the University of South carolina and served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Mr. Appleby has served on the S.C. Aeronautics Commission, National Advisory Council of Small Business Administration, Governor’s Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Advisory Council, the Florence Housing Authority and the S.C. Board of Pharmacy. He has received various awards and honors including the Order of the Palmetto and the Pee Dee Home Builders Associate Member of the Year in 1975 and again in 1980. He and his wife, Betty, have two children.
